Quite a few months ago, a friend of mine introduced me to South Mountain Creamery. It's a local farm that uses organic like practices to raise their animals so their customers can get natural products. I was so excited to find out they delivered to your house weekly and even bottled their milk in glass jars! After about 2 month of this great service, the rising gas prices made the owner rethink the delivery route and Hagerstown was removed from it's stop. With my last delivery, I said goodbye to my milkman and goodbye to my weekly delivery of milk, cheese, beef and chicken. I had leftover jars to return so I decided last Thursday to drop those off and get some new milk as well as let Piper feed the calves. It was quite an adventure and was shocked to discover how close the farm really is to my house. I've decided to make it a weekly visit for our dairy needs and to allow Piper to experience the fun of feeding the calves.
